I got ready for a Golan tour four times. I went twice. The other two times I did all the packing, briefings and mental preparation, then stayed home. That’s the army’s way of teaching you not to get attached to plans.
A note on the photos: not all of them are mine. I lost most of my own over the years to what I’ll politely call relationship changes. Photos, like furniture, tend to stay with whoever keeps the house. Most of what’s here comes from the same time frame and the same ground, though, and it’s as close to my view of the place as I can get now.
