MK Ultra is Mike’s favourite. It’s more legend than anything, but it’s still a great hitter.
For me it’s a late-afternoon thing, mostly in shatter form.
Where the Name Comes From
MK-Ultra was the CIA’s Cold War mind-control research program, best known for its LSD experiments on people who hadn’t agreed to them, many of whom didn’t know they were being dosed. T.H. Seeds named the strain after it, pitching it as a mostly indica hybrid that will “hypnotize you.” That’s marketing, but with a sense of humour, and a government-experiment name suits a plant with G-13 in its family tree.
Lineage
The G-13 side is where “more legend than anything” earns its keep. The long-running story says G-13 came out of a U.S. government research grow, the University of Mississippi’s federal cannabis program, and was smuggled out by someone on the inside. Nobody has ever proven it, and that’s exactly why the story won’t die. What is on record is that T.H. Seeds crossed it with OG Kush, and the result won the Indica category at the 2003 High Times Cannabis Cup and took second the following year.
Aroma & Flavour
Pine-forward Kush, with earthy, woody and pungent notes. There’s a bit of citrus on the edge from the limonene, and a resinous finish that stays on the palate. It’s not subtle, and it isn’t trying to be.

Effects
A fast, euphoric onset, then the indica side takes over with heavy relaxation, a tingly body, a hungry spell and a sleepy finish. Leafly reviewers mostly call it a nighttime strain. A late-afternoon dose hands you the evening already sorted.
