More Sandwiches: Six Hours of Sirens

Every now and then, you need a playlist that knows exactly what it is.

This one does.

More Sandwiches is six hours of women who can sing, snarl, whisper, belt, seduce, haunt, and occasionally make you wonder why you ever bothered listening to anybody else.

No theme beyond that.

No algorithmic therapy session.

No “mood journey.”

Just a long stretch of female voices doing the heavy lifting.

I’ve always thought there was something different about a great female vocalist. Maybe it’s range. Maybe it’s phrasing. Maybe it’s the fact that some of them can turn one line into a confession, a threat, or a complete emotional demolition job without raising their voice.

Whatever it is, this playlist is full of it.

There are songs here for late nights, long drives, bad moods, good moods, sitting around doing nothing, and those rare moments when the world shuts up long enough for you to hear yourself think.

Some are obvious choices.

Some aren’t.

Some are voices you know immediately.

Others creep up on you.

That’s part of the fun.

Why “More Sandwiches”?

Because apparently everything needs a title.

And if six hours of women singing doesn’t deserve a mildly ridiculous one, I don’t know what does.

There is no deeper meaning.

If you came looking for symbolism, you may be on the wrong website.

Six Hours Is a Commitment

This is not a quick playlist.

This is a settle in and stay awhile playlist.

Put it on while you’re working.

Put it on in the car.

Put it on while sorting through old photos, pretending to clean the house, or staring out the window wondering how society got this weird.

You’ll probably hear something you forgot you loved.

You may also hear something that sends you down a completely unnecessary rabbit hole for the next three hours.

That’s how this works.

The Playlist

Final Thought

Six hours.

All women.

No apologies.

Some voices are smooth.

Some are dangerous.

Some sound like they’ve seen things.

Some probably have.

Call them singers, artists, frontwomen, songwriters, or sirens.

I’m going with sirens.

Turn it up.

And if you don’t like at least a few of them, your speakers may be defective, best paired with
